I have an internal OTel Collector stood up for my deployments. It is a private service. Any service that needs to talk to it does so directly through the private network without authentication. It is really annoying I cannot just tell Render to send its metrics to my internal OTel Collector. I do not want Render to bypass my PHI/sampling settings by going directly to the metric sinks. I also do not want to increase my secret surface area by having to print another write token to give to Render. Please just allow Render to push to an OTel Collector through a private network.

As a computer science educator, I use Render to teach students cloud deployment workflows. A major limitation is that the Hobby (free) workspace allows only one member, which prevents students from collaborating on shared services, deployments, and logs. In modern CS curricula, group projects involving cloud services are standard. Students need to practice working together on the same deployed services, monitoring logs, and managing deployments as a team. The current 30-day free tier for databases is also too short for the longer and larger projects needed to properly train students for software engineering jobs. I’d like to request either: Allowing multiple members on Hobby workspaces for educational use, or Introducing a low-cost, preferably free, academic workspace plan that supports team collaboration. In addition, the academic plan should include free collaborative access to database services for at least 3 months to support the ever more popular larger and longer cloud projects that are needed to better train students in real life development scenarios. This would make Render much more suitable for classroom teaching and help position it as a go-to platform for cloud education.

I have a web service that proxies some traffic to a private service. I can see Total Requests and Response Times for the public web service but not the private web service. I'd like to be able to see the same HTTP metrics for the private service.

It would be great to have a way to host apps that are deployed in multiple regions, so the app is fast anywhere in the world. I guess this is quite a challenge, because you might also need a multi-region distributed database. But it would be great to have an easy way of building such an app without the dev-ops overhead.

For application with primarily Indian users, it makes much more sense to allow hosting apps in a Indian region.

Currently, there’s no way to securely use an API key while controlling my web application. I’m developing an API to monitor the server's boot status and attempted to use the List Events feature. However, I can't keep the API key completely safe due to platform limitations. It would be beneficial to have the option to restrict the API key's access to specific actions, like only allowing it to use the List Events API.

I hate browser alerts usually. But think in this one case I'd be happy if I got an alert from my browser opening up the deploy page in a new tab.

Request to implement some kind of programmatic redirect framework to let the user write a file during build time that will inform static site redirects for Render. Suggested by Brandon Wang.

Currently when a render sync fails for ANY reason I receive an email "Sync failed for YAML file". This should not include "expected" failures such as when the sync fails because new code has been pushed. In my mind that is not a failure. Also the YAML sync link often just brings me to my render dashboard instead of telling me what failed.
