Background
Perf Optimize computed the integration acceptance threshold in Python, but also required the Integrator agent to recompute and report the same floating-point value. Normal output rounding could make those values differ and abort an otherwise successful integration.
Summary
Impact
This prevents harmless LLM-side numeric formatting from terminating Perf Optimize. Acceptance semantics are unchanged: measured integration gain must still meet the same Python-computed threshold. Existing progress entries with the removed field remain readable because the orchestrator ignores extra persisted fields.
Testing
Dev Engineer Review
The Integrator no longer needs to calculate or report
required_gain_pct. The Python orchestrator remains authoritative: it comparesmeasured_gain_pctwith its expected threshold and rejects results below that threshold. This removes redundant threshold validation while retaining the stated acceptance condition. The author reports that persisted progress entries with the removed field remain readable because the orchestrator ignores extra fields.QA Engineer Review
Two test files changed:
test_progress.pyandtest_workflow.py. Their Integrator test data no longer includesrequired_gain_pct; the workflow tests also remove the threshold-mismatch invalid-verdict case. The remaining checks cover progress recording and acceptance against the orchestrator’s expected threshold. These are not integration tests, so CI and manual-QA integration lists do not apply. Coverage verdict: sufficient for the described change. The PR objectives report 159 tests passing andpre-commit run -a; the supplied shell output does not independently verify those results.Per-File QA Perspective
agent-flow/agent_flow/workflows/perf_optimize/progress.py— Verify that Integrator progress requests work withoutrequired_gain_pctand retain the measured result fields. The author reports that existing entries with the removed field remain readable.agent-flow/agent_flow/workflows/perf_optimize/workflow.py— Verify that the orchestrator compares measured gain with its Python-computed threshold and rejects gains below it. The Integrator prompt no longer asks the agent to calculate or report that threshold.agent-flow/tests/workflows/perf_optimize/test_progress.py— The progress test checks recording withoutrequired_gain_pctand retains checks for the verdict and included item IDs. It is not an integration test-list entry.agent-flow/tests/workflows/perf_optimize/test_workflow.py— Workflow test data no longer calculates or emitsrequired_gain_pct, and the threshold-mismatch case is removed. The remaining checks cover verdict fields and acceptance behavior; this is not an integration test-list entry.
