At I/O we introduced the Universal Cart, an intelligent shopping cart and new hub for shopping on Google. It helps people save items they love from multiple retailers across the web, make sure they never miss a deal, and enjoy effortless checkout powered by UCP. Universal Cart is starting to roll out today across Google Search and the Gemini app. We’re also publishing our first ever “When to Buy” Guide. It helps people shop smarter, based on last year’s promotional patterns, search trends, and discount data across U.S. merchants on Google. Smarter shopping, made simpler.

Today, we are rolling out a pair of new campaign controls: channel prioritization and budget allocation. These optional features are designed to give you more flexibility over where your campaign budgets go across Google Channels, the Google Display Network and Google Search Partners – moving beyond binary opt-out choices. Let’s break them down: 1️⃣ Channel prioritization: You can designate the Display Network, Search Partners and Google Channels as “High priority” or “Low priority.” The system will fully fund your high priority channels first (within your target CPA or ROAS goals) before directing any remaining budget to lower-priority channels. 2️⃣ Budget allocation: For any channel you designate as "Low priority," you can also set an optional, percentage-based daily budget cap. This allows you to test and expand reach on secondary channels/groupings within clear spending limits. 🧐 Now let’s get into the weeds: -> What are the channel options by campaign type? - Search: Adjust priorities for Google Search, Search Partners, and GDN. - Shopping: Adjust priorities for Google Search and Search Partners. - PMax: Adjust priorities for "Google channels" (Search, YouTube, Gmail, Discover, Maps grouped as a single setting), Search Partners, and GDN. - Demand Gen: Adjust priorities for "Google channels" and GDN. Existing channel controls are unchanged. -> How do these work with Smart Bidding strategies? - Max conversions/Max conv value: Channel prioritization steers spend to "High priority" channels first before allocating any remaining budget to lower-priority ones. - Target CPA/ROAS: When not limited by budget (recommended), channel prioritization alone won't change spending behavior bc the bidding system naturally attempts to capture all eligible conv volume at your target across opted-in networks. Use budget allocations to control spend on lower-priority channels. When limited by budget, spend will flow to High priority channels first. If additional spend on those channels would exceed your target, your budget will shift to Low priority channels when predicted to deliver convs at/better than your target. Budget allocation caps are respected. -> Where do I manage these settings? - Account-level: Apply defaults across your entire account per campaign type. - Campaign-level: Override account defaults at the campaign level. - Shared Budgets: Fully compatible and supported when using shared budgets. -> How can I manage these settings and when will they be available? - Supported via Google Ads API at launch. Editor support coming soon. - Settings are fully testable using campaign Drafts & Experiments. - They’ll be rolling out globally over the coming months. Note: For Search campaigns opted into GDN, the current spend allocation setup will go away, starting Feb '27. To keep your current config, you can set it to “Low priority” with 50% budget allocation. ⏩ Let me know if you’ve got questions. Blog link in the comments. #googleads #ppc

Want more control over where your Google Ads budget goes first? Swipe through to see how channel prioritization and budget allocation work across Search, Shopping, and Performance Max (with Demand Gen coming later): 👇 1️⃣ Choose which channels get funded first: Set inventory channels or channel groupings as “High priority” or “Low priority” to fund high-priority channels first before allocating remaining budget to lower-priority channels. 2️⃣ Allocate budgets: Get more control than all-or-nothing opt-outs. When a channel or channel grouping is set as “Low priority,” you can specify a maximum percentage of your daily budget to stay within your desired boundaries on those channels. On a best-effort basis, our tools will aim to keep spend on those channels within that limit. Check the comments to learn more. 👇

More content. More platforms. More decisions. Today’s super-empowered consumer has endless choices, which means you have infinite ways to reach them… but less time to actually hold their attention. We caught up with a few B2B experts backstage at Rethink to ask one question: What are marketers getting wrong about consumers right now? Here’s what they had to say: 💡 Reva Minkoff (Founder & President, Digital4Startups Inc.) describes why authenticity beats overproduced perfection. 💡 Matt Shenton (Founder, Brand Schema) cautions us on binary thinking (AI search vs. traditional search). 💡 Ezra Sackett (Director of Paid Search, Monks) shares why the fluidity of the super-empowered consumer is actually beneficial. 💡 Jeff Sauer (CEO, MeasureU.com) details the reality of fractured, non-linear decision journeys. 💡 Pauline Jakober (Founder, Group Twenty Seven) gears us toward full-funnel momentum with Demand Gen & YouTube. 💡 Menachem Ani Ⓜ️ (Founder & CEO, JXT Group) recommends measuring the entire journey, not just the final click. 👇 Watch below for the details. What’s the biggest consumer shift challenging your team this year?

Has AI rewritten the rules of Search? Good SEO is still good GEO. 🔍 At Rethink ROI 2026, Google’s Brendon Kraham (VP, Search & Commerce) unpacked how AI is reshaping discovery and why good search engine optimization (SEO) is good generative engine optimization (GEO). Here are 3 ways to get discovered and win in the AI era: 👇 🧭 1. AI expands the customer journey: Instead of acting as a gatekeeper that shuts brands out, AI expands discovery. Consumers using AI ask longer, more conversational questions in AI Mode and explore more touchpoints, giving your brand more opportunities to break into their consideration set. 🛠️ 2. Build for humans, not bots: Generative AI experiences in Google Search are rooted in core Search ranking and quality systems. Skip misleading tactics like building for bots, creating generic content, or chasing inauthentic forum mentions, and focus on sharing your unique point of view, first-hand experiences, and expertise. 💡 3. Turn your ads into answers: In this new era of discovery, static, manual campaigns cannot move at the speed of consumers. Pair authentic content and accurate, real-time data with Google’s AI-powered campaigns to show up with helpful answers right inside AI-powered conversations. Double down on your foundational content and data today, and let Google AI scale your growth.

I am still thinking about the MMM conversation I had with an agency recently. Patrick Gilbert and Nechama Teigman from AdVenture Media pulled back the curtain on how they implemented Meridian without enterprise-level overhead and with the help of AI tools. (Update! Since this conversation, Meridian has introduced interactive Agentic Skills to help you prepare data, configure priors, fit models, analyze diagnostics, run budget optimizations, and plan scenarios.) If you want to upgrade your measurement strategy but have been intimidated by the perceived barriers to entry, give this a read. 👇 https://lnkd.in/ey-6ttAy
