Paraboloidal Coordinates

Paraboloidal coordinates are orthogonal curvilinear coordinates (u,v,phi) in three-dimensional Euclidean space defined by

 x=uvcosphi, y=uvsinphi, z=1/2(u^2-v^2),

where u,v>=0 and 0<=phi<2pi. The coordinate surfaces with u or v fixed are paraboloids of revolution, while the surfaces with phi fixed are half-planes through the z-axis.
